As much as I love teaching I sure do enjoy a 3 day weekend every now and then. We had a 3 day weekend this week and the weather was perfect. I feel like I caught up a TON of yard work which is always nice.
This week I would like to share one of our activities from this last week. We have been studying fables for the last two weeks. One of the fables we read this week is one most of us are familiar with, The Town Mouse and Country Mouse. We used this story to talk about where we live. As I previously posted last week we are also doing The Flat Stanley Project so we tied the two together to talk about our town on the map and what makes it special. After discussing what makes Goodman so special the students created brochures about our town and why it is so special. I had the students include things that they think sets our town apart, reasons why people should come here and what kind of attractions they could enjoy when they arrived. I thought they turned out very cute, here are some highlights:
Have a GREAT rest of the weekend!
