Flat Stanley

Today I am popping in to share with you our Flat Stanley's!  One of my FAVORITE books to share with my students is Flat Stanley.

We always have so much excitement with this activity.  The anticipation of waiting for Stanley to come back home is almost impossible for some of the students.  After I shared the book I sent home a note requesting parents to send to school an address of a family member or friend from another state.  We made our Stanley's and sent him off on his adventure.  In the meantime I put my map up on my wall so it would be ready when Stanley came back home:
We were very excited to come back from the weekend and have FIVE Stanley's waiting for us!  We attached Stanley to a string and attached it to his vacation destination so we could track all of the wonderful places he visited:
We posted the letters we received from his wonderful hosts along with all of the pictures and artifacts we received. Stanley has already had some very interesting travels.  He was able to be a judge for a day, visit Elvis Presley's birthplace, and even join in recruitment for the army.  We definitely can't wait to see where else Stanley has visited in the days to come.  Enjoy some various photos of Stanley's vacation below:

I can't wait to share more of Stanley's adventures with you in the next month!
I hope you had a TERRIFIC THURSDAY!
