Today I was out of the classroom attending a Writing Workshop training. It was really good and I got some great ideas that I want to take back to my classroom and use. However, here is the problem... I missed my class. As hard as teaching can be somedays, when I am away, I miss my class like crazy. I couldn't wait to get back and give them hugs and say hi to them today. The other funny thing is that being away ignites a desire to do all these awesome things with your students. You can't wait to get back and start teaching again because all these awesome ideas flood your brain. Teaching is a wonderful thing.
Today I want to share some more of our Math time with you. Yesterday we decided to sort shapes according to their attributes. I gave the students four different comparisons to work through. Each group received a different set of comparison criteria.
They learned so much from this hands-on experience and the collaboration that this task required. I would highly recommend doing as many activities as possible to where students can collaborate and talk things out. They learn so much from conversing back and forth. Here are some of the snapshots from our learning:
Hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Love this! Looks like fun and learning!
