Each case had 2-4 detectives in each group. Inside each case file I had a case file notebook, detective badges, and a different mystery book for each group. See picture below to for an example:
I talked and talked about the importance of cracking their case and solving the mystery so the students were so excited to get into their mystery and figure it out. After students finished up their Case File I had them put together a little presentation poster for the class. The presentation included the case summary, the suspects, detectives, and the clues used to solve their mystery. They also had a magnifying glass to draw a summary picture of the book. Finally, to complete their poster they created their own detective. They put all of this together to make a display for the class so that we could share our different mysteries with each other. We had so much fun!
Last week we also completed our very first S.T.E.M lesson. I FORGOT to take pictures (maybe because the principal was watching). :-) Our focus question was this: Can you make all of the colors of the rainbow using only three colors? We had a blast!
I have some really neat Flat Stanley items to share with you very soon!
Have a FANTASTIC Monday evening!
