Presidents and Seuss

I have a couple things I want to share tonight.
First of all I want to share our posters from our research about President Washington and President Lincoln.  A couple of weeks ago we spent our week learning about Washington and Lincoln.  To end our unit we went to the computer lab and the students worked in groups to research three cool facts about either Washington or Lincoln. After this the students were asked to make a poster out of it and they got to choose three pictures they could print and include on their poster.  See them below:

Due to all of the snow last week we are doing our Dr. Seuss theme this week.  Yesterday we read Oh The Places You'll Go!  I found a wonderful reading of it on YouTube.  Click the link to find it- Oh The Places You'll Go
After we watched this clip we had a great discussion about the places that we would like to go. We talked about how we think these places will look, smell, taste, what we will hear. Next the students completed a little writing craftivity that we found online.  They turned out great and the students had some great descriptive writing about the places they would like to go.  See a couple of them below:

Stay tuned later this week when I post pictures from our Oobleck day!  It should be A LOT of fun!  Until next time...
Have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!
