First Week!

We had a great first week in 3rd grade!  I always enjoy the first week because I love getting to know all the new personalities in my classroom.  Every class is different than the previous and you can usually tell in the first week what kind of community you will have in your classroom.  I am really excited about this year's class!  The teamwork and family attitude is really strong this year and I know we are going to accomplish great things as a result.  We spent most of our first three days getting to know each other and working as teams to strengthen our teamwork and communication.   To highlight just one of our activities we completed the "Saving Fred" challenge.   The students really had to stretch their thinking and communicate well with each other to save Fred.  The goal of the activity was to get Fred back in his life vest without him falling off the boat.  The hard part is that students could only touch the paperclip.   It was a lot of fun to watch and listen as they worked this problem out.  Check out the highlights below:
