Welcome Back! I am so excited to be back at school doing what I love this week! I can already tell it's going to be a great school year! We have had a lot of fun and exciting activities already in two short school days! Today I want to highlight a great one that our team completed. This year for our Back to School Retreat our principal had Adventure Games come and do team-building activities with us. It was so much fun that our grade-level team decided to do a remake for our very own classroom.
We broke the students into 4 teams. Students were given six tasks to complete in a predetermined amount of time. Four of the tasks were required tasks and two were a bonus. Here are the tasks that we had the students complete:
1. Find two new teachers to our building and get a selfie and autograph.
2. Create a cheer using the words Goodman, So Happy Together, Third Grade and Mrs. Branham.
Record it on the IPad.
3. Create a talk show and record it. (2 minutes)
4. Recreate one of the photos on the wall in the office.
5. Using the 5 items in the basket make something useful. (Give them things like toilet paper rolls,
tape, aluminum foil, craft sticks, etc.)
6. Using items you find in the room create a costume and take a picture of it with your IPad.
WOW! The students' creativity for this project blew us away! I underestimated the amount of creativity they would bring to this project. It was a lot of fun and most students said it was their favorite activity from the day!
We are off to a great start! I hope you will stay up on the awesome things happening in our classroom this year! Have a TERRIFIC THURSDAY EVENING!
Excited to read your 3rd grade adventures! Love your tshecib Adventure Games
