Titanic Research

We have had a great time studying and researching the Titanic in Third Grade!  The students spent a couple of week's doing research and answering their own personal questions that they had about the Titanic and it's history.  Near the end of the two weeks we gave them four possibilities that I will share below.  Students had to decide which person was at fault for the sinking of the Titanic.  They read the four stories independently, then without discussing it with any other student, had to choose who would be to blame.  We had a corner for each of the four choices.  When we said go they picked their corner.  They then answered some questions to help them narrow down their reasoning.

Here is a link to the different opinions of the Titanic sinking:
Why did the Titanic Sink?

After they completed this task they were given the task to make an ad or infographic convincing their audience of why the person they chose was at fault for the Titanic's sinking. Here are a couple of the final products:

We had a great time doing this project and the finished result was fantastic!  Have a MARVELOUS MONDAY!
