Snow Globe Family!!!

What an appropriate topic for a snow day!  So far we have been out of school 2 days this week due to snow.  Today I want to share an activity that we completed last week.  Last week we read the book Snow Globe Family.  It is such a great book about a little family that lives in a snow globe. This little family is waiting for the snow globe to be shaken so it can have a snow storm.  When reading this book we focus on sequencing story events.

As a fun activity we write about "If I lived in a Snow Globe I would..."  After the students finished up their writing I took their pictures pretending they were throwing a snow ball. I then glued them on the back of Chinet clear plates like the ones you see below:

This week we finally got our very own snow:

My kids were so happy to finally be able to go use those snow boots they got in December for Christmas.  They were out in the snow by 7:00 a.m. our first snow day. I sure have enjoyed the "catch up" time we have had, but I am definitely ready to see my students again!  Happy Snow Day until next time!!!
